Attention! Bike Manufacturer Recalls Critical Equipment

A few of our recent posts (this one about road safety and this one about defensive bicycling) talked about how to stay safe when enjoying time out on your bikes.

Another issue to be aware of is product safety when cycling. The Consumer Product Safety Commission just released a product recall for the XtC Bicycle and its seatposts due to affected after-market products cracking and posing a fall hazard.

Bicycle safety starts with good equipment. Make sure your bike is in good condition to hit the road.

Luckily for the makers of the bike (Giant Bicycle), of the five reports of seatposts breaking, no injuries were reported. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

At Beattie Law Firm, we’re firm believers that manufacturers should provide safe products and be transparent about any defects that are found once the product is being sold.

If you’ve been injured while using a product that you suspect had a manufacturing flaw or was sold despite a recall, you may have grounds for compensation.
