Holiday Shopping Recalls

As you begin holiday shopping, Beattie Law Firm urges you to keep toy recalls in mind. Faulty toys account for thousands of reported injuries a year, all preventable.

These recalled toys usually get into children’s hands one of two ways. Either the toy was purchased secondhand, after being recalled, or prior to its recall. To keep children safe, be vigilant while holiday shopping and check recalls regularly. A comprehensive list can be found at Safe Kids Worldwide (http://www.safekids.org/product-recalls).

In addition to checking for recalls, be sure to practice toy safety this holiday season:

  • Discard toy packaging and plastic wrapping immediately after opening, these small items can be dangerous to small children.
  • Keep toys for older children out of the hands of younger siblings.
  • Supervise any battery charging–many chargers can get hot and burn small children.

We hope that you have a wonderful holiday season, full of smiles and love. Give children the gift of safety by checking recall lists and keeping all toys age-appropriate. In the incident of a recall-related accident, don’t hesitate to call Beattie Law Firm. We are product recall experts and here for you.
