Trooper Escapes Near Disaster with Minor Injuries

This near disaster, caught on film by a Johnson County Sheriff’s squad car camera, is a reminder on why drivers need to slow down when approaching accident scenes.

A white pickup truck went airborne after getting struck by a semi truck, nearly taking out two deputies and a state trooper on I-80, near Oxford.

The officers were pulled over, working on another crash when the semi hit the pickup, causing it to fly off the road between the two officer’s vehicles.

This could have been a very tragic accident, but luckily only one trooper was taken to the hospital, and was treated for minor injuries, while everyone else on the scene walked away without injury. Though everyone was very lucky in this situation, this may not be the case for other accidents.
