This follows another vehicular homicide case in the state earlier this month.
The driver of a pickup truck that killed four teenage boys last month, in Eastern Iowa, has been charged with vehicular homicide. The driver faces four counts of vehicular homicide, by operating while intoxicated; four counts of vehicular homicide by reckless driving; one count of serious injury by operating while intoxicated; and one count of serious injury by reckless driving and failure to stop for a stop sign.
The crash occurred at an intersection near Epworth, Iowa, and killed the four teens – all age 14 – while they were riding on a four-wheeled utility vehicle.
The fatalities remind us of the how quick and sudden any accident can occur. Though you may be a safe and alert driver, we can never be certain of others on the road. If you know someone who has been drinking, do not let him/her drive while intoxicated to avoid repercussions for both parties.
