Central Iowa Babysitter Arrested After Toddler Falls from Vehicle

Recently in Des Moines, a babysitter was arrested due to a toddler that was under her care, falling from a moving vehicle. The toddler was found sitting on Highway 141 in Central Iowa.

 

More and more frequently the news is reporting on stories about childcare abuse, neglect and injuries due to the lack of attention that babysitters are focusing on children.

 

The most common types of injuries caused from babysitters are:

  1. Children left in vehicle on a warm or cold day
  2. Children left unattended
  3. Children left behind at group outing facilities
  4. Unsafe playground equipment
  5. Chemicals and/or medications that are easily accessible to children
