30-Car Freight Train’s Force of Hitting Car = Car Crushing Soda Can

According to the Federal Railroad Administration Office of Safety Analysis, in 2015 there were 2,059 train crossing incidents reported nationally, resulting in 244 deaths and 967 injuries. These accidents are a deadly and too common occurrence. The organization Operation Lifesaver offers a grim statistic, estimating that a motorist is 20 times more likely to die in a collision involving a train than in one with another vehicle. Operation Lifesaver very grimly compares the force of a 30-car freight train hitting a car to the force of a car crushing an aluminum can.

Unfortunately, too often the accident blame is placed squarely on the driver. Railroad companies and their lawyers protect their own interests, sometimes even hiding or altering crucial evidence. In the instance of an accident it is imperative that you have your own personal injury attorney who can protect you, your rights and your interests.

At Beattie Law Firm, our dedicated team works closely with victims and their families to determine accident causes and obtain fair and just compensation for losses. Our lawyers take immediate action to investigate the scene and secure evidence. We look for and find the answers needed to help our clients and their families.
