General Motors has recalled more than 25 million cars, dating back to 1997, but also nearly a dozen 2014 models, due to the key and ignition switch problems. GM has acknowledged 16 deaths due to the issues with the car; and has evaluated compensation to families of the injured and deceased for pain and suffering, lost future earnings and surviving dependents. They have set no cap to the compensation.

2011-14 Chevrolet Cruze; 2012-14 Chevrolet Sonic
2013-14 Chevrolet Trax, Buick Encore and Verano
2014 Chevrolet Camaro and Impala, Buick Regal, Cadillac XTS
2007-11 Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD equipped with an auxiliary battery
2005-07 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender, Saab 9-7x
2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL
