National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 through May 12th.  According to the ANA, the date of May 12th corresponds with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Our personal injury and workers’ compensation practice allows us to become involved with and get to know many of the wonderful nurses practicing in the State of Iowa.  The nurses are truly the front line defense in the medical industry.  Our clients often tell us that the nursing services here in Iowa are second to none.

We would like to take the time to acknowledge a special group of nurses here in the State of Iowa – the nurses on the burn unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Our extensive burn injury practice has allowed us to see the many great things that these nurses have done for our clients and their patients over the years.  They are a true blessing to the patients and families they treat on a daily basis.  They are compassionate.  They are caring.  The injuries they see are devastating, often providing nursing services to children with burn injuries or other catastrophic injuries.  It takes a special person – a special heart- to do what they do.  We truly mean that.  Accordingly, for National Nurses Week, we would like to extend our sincerest “Thank You” to the nurses on the burn unit at UIHC.  “Thank You.”

If you know a nurse who devotes his or her life to providing care for others, please be sure to extend a since “Thank You” this week for their services.
