Our team at the Beattie Law Firm is saddened to hear of the tragedy in Louisiana that struck a family of eight, when five of its members were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the news release from the Louisiana State Police, the accident occurred just before 11 p.m. The family was on their way to Disney World when the 16-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe fell asleep and hit a medium. The driver overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to roll over.

Six of the passengers were ejected from the seat, instantly killing five — the passengers were not wearing seat belts.
